We’re excited to introduce Vanessa Clarke as the new Employment Placement Coordinator for the Chard Métis Nation! Her role will focus on creating opportunities and ensuring our Nation is supported in meaningful employment journeys.
Vanessa is excited to connect with members, support their career goals, and help build strong pathways between our community and local employers. She’ll be working closely with members to support job placements, build employer partnerships, and help individuals navigate their career paths with confidence and opportunity.

The Chard Métis Nation is seeking a dedicated, community-rooted Community Health Coordinator to lead, coordinate, and support health and wellness programming across Chard Métis Nation and the community (including supporting Chipewyan Prairie First Nation).
This role will serve as a central connector between traditional Indigenous healing practices, Western medical providers (including Hines Health Services), and a diverse network of health vendors and services providers to ensure holistic, accessible, and culturally respectful care.

Designed for both new and current workers in hospitality sectors—from food services to hotels, camps, and attractions—this program includes globally recognized certification training and a 4‑week volunteer placement to gain real-world experience

A 16‑week program starting August 11, 2025, for Indigenous individuals in Fort McMurray, Alberta. It begins with 4 weeks of in-person safety and job‑readiness training, followed by 12 weeks of post-program support.
This program includes certifications in areas like fall protection, H2S Alive, WHMIS, confine space entry, CSTS, Indigenous awareness, and more.

The Cultivating Indigenous Talents in the Arts (CITA) program hosts a series of one-week mentorships from September 2025 to August 2026, providing 10 emerging Indigenous artists from remote Alberta communities with personalized guidance and professional development to help build confidence and develop the necessary skills to grow their careers.
The program takes place in Fort McMurray, Alberta, where each artist receives direct mentorship from Arts Council Wood Buffalo’s experienced staff.
