Pursuing higher education? There are many great opportunities available that want to help you on your education journey by providing financial assistance.
Are you a Métis student from Alberta? The BBMAs can support you by covering between $1,000 and $10,000 of your tuition and fees.
Up to $10,000 each year for post-secondary education.
Applications open: December 15

Full and part time studies in college, university, skilled trades, apprenticeships, and technology programs.
There is one application for all of Indspire’s bursaries and scholarships (with a few exceptions that you’ll see below). You only need to complete the application once to be considered for all applicable bursaries and scholarships. September 2024 to August 2025 academic year.

The Bursary Partnership Program (BPP) brings together sponsors and the Northern Alberta Development Bursary Program with a return of service bursary. The program will match sponsor’s amount of up to $3,500 per student per year. Sponsors must provide all required information each year they want the program to match the funds they provide.
We will match between $1,000 and $3,500 per student (maximum of $1,750 for a half-year program), for a total of $7,000 per student.
Higher matching funds are available for:
pharmacy or large animal veterinary students ($7,000 per year)
nurse practitioner students ($10,500)
students enrolled in medical or dentistry school ($14,000 per year)
The First Nations, Métis and Inuit (FNMI) bursary program provides funding for Indigenous students in the form of a non-repayable bursary if you agree to live and work in northern Alberta for one year of full-time employment in return for each year of bursary support received. Employment must be in your field of studies for which the bursary was provided.
The goal of this bursary is to assist FNMI students to obtain the skills and knowledge to enter or re-enter the workforce in northern Alberta.
Up to $7,000 for pre-apprenticeship or certificate/diploma studies
Up to $11,500 per year for Bachelor’s, Masters’ or PhD programs
To encourage Indigenous peoples living in Alberta (First Nations, Métis and Inuit) to pursue and complete post-secondary studies in certificate, diploma, applied degree and bachelor’s degree programs.
